Yamaha PSR 400 Manual and recording melody
by: Anonymous

Download the manual here:

http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/emi/english/port/PSR500E.PDF

It's for both the PSR 400 and the PSR 500.

On Page 26, it says to press one of the 5 melody buttons while holding the record/edit button right below. Recording will begin as soon as a note is played. the metronome will also start (but will not be recorded). Stop recording by pressing any of three buttons: Accompaniment Control [start/stop] or [ending] or Song Memory [start/stop]. To play it back, press the melody button again. You might also have to press the start/stop button in the accompaniment area. The accompaniment will also be saved, but you turn it off in the Orchestration area.

Then to really save it,following instructions on page 13, way over on the left side, save to one of the four page memories by pressing and holding the red triangular rec button while you press the page number button. This will save your melody even if the piano is turned off and back on (as long as there are batteries or power connected).
