R & L hand parts do not split IAW split point

by Vince Tews
(San Antonio TX)

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your willingness to help me. I have a Yamaha DGX-530, YPG-535, and love it. I have set the split point to many locations, C2, C3, C4. I record a Usersong01 and convert/save it to a USB thumb drive, then load it as the song to learn/play/display the music for in both R and L hands. The notes/sheet music displayed for learning has always shown on my recorded/converted/on USB music as all notes in the upper/Treble clef with both hands of music combined. The normal as shown in many pieces/songs to practice/learn/play along with the LED displayed staffs/notes from Yamaha has the parts/notes properly split; the R part in the upper staff and the L part in the lower staff.

I have read the user's manual many times; it is very good and thorough but does not address this specific problem.

I would appreciate any help, questions, ideas or insights. Thank you in advance.

Vince Tews, San Antonio TX

Closer to the solution

Musicians,
I have found part of our answers in the 'Record your own Performance' section, p57, of the DGX530/YPG535 owner's manual.
I have copied this from it: "Track [1]—Will play back as the right-hand melody part (MELODY R). Track [2]—Will play back as the left-hand melody part (MELODY L)."
Given the above, we now need to figure out how to record both on Track 1 and 2 at the same time. IOW press and hold 2 or 3 or 4 buttons at the same time then begin to play normally. We want to have the R and L parts to come out on the music after conversion to their normal places R on the upper staff typically Treble and the L on the lower staff, typically Bass.
I have tried every combination of pushing/holding the Rec button and then pushing the 1 button, the 1 and 2 button, etc but cannot get both track 1 and 2 to record at the same time. i have had 'dual voice', 'split point' each on or off or both on or off with no difference. I will continue to research this and let everyone know as we get closer to our answers.
