Power Supply for Yamaha VSS 30 Portasound

I lost my power supply for my old Yamaha VSS 30 Portasound and I have tried other 9v adapters but they either don't work or produce a noisy hiss. Where do I find a replacement adapter?

Dear Eric: First off, you do know that Warts(Adaptors) are made with "Center Positive" and "Center Negative" barrels. Further, I know that Yamaha units require the "Center Positive" types. Using the wrong Wart can damage your unit.

You mention 9 volts (vdc) what amperage? This is important as current has some effect on the sounds you play (also if the current is too low, could burn up the wart).

Come back to the Forum if you can identify the amperage needed, failing which we will try to obtain info on the web. A preliminary sweep did not show much on the VSS 30. We hope to hear from you soon. Keep well.
