One section of keyboard sunk ...!

by Joyce
(Illinois)

Hi,
I have this YDP 323 digital piano for two years. It was out of order this week. The keyboards in the middle part (C1 ~ A1) sunk a little. Therefore, you can see these keys in these area that are lower than the rest of the keys. Also, you can hear the voice not sharp but with some noise.

I believe that my warranty was expired. What can I can do with this problem? How can I fix it?

YDP 323 Sunken Keys
by: Alfred

Dear Joyce: I will hazard a guess. The problem is typical for failed rubber pads under the sunken keys. The repair is not a DIY job, and the cost of repairs done on an out-of-warranty unit will be for your account.

We hope this info is of help. Thank you for contacting this Forum.

Sunken keys??
by: Dick Rector

Hi Joyce,

More than a contactpad, it sounds to me like an other mechanical problem.
First, I don't understand, you are talking about C1 - A1 in the 'middle'. C1 - A1 are the most LEFT C and A. Anyhow it is strange if only a part of the key-bed has 'sunken' as most key-beds are made in one piece.
Do you mean the keys are partly uneven in hight?
I am not familiar with your piano and it is maybe different constructed.
I would have a Yamaha-prof have a look at it.
If this keyboard is still so young you can expect a longer life of the construction unless of course it has been handled very rough or something heavy was dropped on it.

Hope you can have it solved,

Dick
