Old Dog Learnin' New Tricks ! ...But now what ?

by 4BlindBennyCPops

I'll try to keep this long story & question short...Recently, my Uncle came up from Florida and fell in love with my Yamaha DGX-305. Being over 80, he hadn't been able to play like he had all his life because of arthritis in his hands. I showed him the "Easy Chords" and he was off like a rocket. The songs fell out like rain from the sky. I showed him the auto accopaniment and he was beyond hooked. He was like a little kid again but when he returned home he tried to play his piano for the first time in a long time but ran into the same old problems.

So, of course, I sent him the Yamaha YPT-310 and needless to say he flipped out ! He was playing so much that friends down there where he lived thought something had happened to him because they hadn't seen him. I got calls every day from him as he discovered more and more about the big things this little keyboard could do. He wants more but we don't know where to go from here.

So here's where the questions come in.....

We are looking for a Yamaha with:

Retain the Portable Grand Piano - regular piano capability.

The "Easy Chords" and auto accopaniment with 70+ to the full 88 keys not weighted or very light.

Easy recording, real time - USB or 1/4" direct to the computer - like hitting record, playing a few songs and burning a CD - EASY~EASY.

Larger screen or video output to a monitor or TV as he is also legally blind and can't see so well. (I can barely see it - I have no idea how he can.)

The capability to pre-select, assign or program "voices" or "voice" changes before begining a song so one can flow easily from song to song without having to punch in numbers while playing - similar to hitting the "fill" button and changing the accompaniment.

And also being able to select, pull and pre-set stops, drawbars like a full organ.

As well as not losing any of the basic, standard Yamaha features, Sounds and of course keeping it Affordable.

QUESTION: I know we are asking for a lot but does anything come close to these specs? ?

Thanks in Advance!
