No Sound - Yamaha Portable Grand DGX-500

I have a Yamaha Portable Grand DGX-500. I'm recieving power to the rest of the keyboard but none to the keys.I had a problem with the loose ac adapter plug after fixed that now I have no sound.

Dear Dale: I am not familiar with the DGX 500, but 1) Do you mean the "received power"
was lighting up the Unit; but the display did not show notes being pressed, and you still got sound? 2)AFTER repair of the Adaptor Plug,is the Unit lighting up; display showing notes being pressed, BUT NOW NO SOUND AT ALL?
Your Unit is a Yamaha 2002 release, and may have rubber underlay pads (under the keys). If by a freak coincidence they wore out just at the time your problems began, they need attention by a qualified keyboard technician. Hopefully this is the only problem as it can be easily remedied by replacement of the pads. Good luck.

Hi Dale,

Just a thought.
Can it be something silly like while repairing the adapterplug the + and - have been reversed in the DC-plug?
Keyboards don't like to give sound if that is the case.
