No Sound from CVP305

Hi, I have a CVP-305. Only recently i am faced with this problem which i am unable to solve. Please help. I am at my wits ends to get this to work for my son. I used to hear the static click from the speakers whenever i turned on the system. Usually, after the click, i would be able to hear the sound from the speakers. But lately, i am unable to hear any static click through the speakers when powering on or off and hence no sound is coming out of the speakers. Please help. Thanks in advance.
