Names of keys
by: Dick Rector

Joyce,

I am not sure I understand your question.
If you want to know the names of the keys and where they are on your keyboard it is as follows:
Your keyboard has 5 octaves. An octave runs from C to C, that is to begin with the lowest white key a C called C1.
Every white key before 2 black keys is called a C, followed by (white keys) D E F G A B and than the next C (C2) and so on to the next C (C3) and that is the middle or central C.
You have two more C's to go to the most right white key C4 and C5.
The BLACK keys, a half tone up, are called CIS(1) DIS FIS GIS AIS and so on.
Is this answering your question???
Come back to this forum if we can be at any assistance.

Regards
Dick
