Mint Yamaha PSS-270 but no sound. What gives?

Hey there everyone. I have a Yamaha PSS-270 with case in absolute mint condition but there's no sound. I can turn it on, the display works, the buttons work and I can hear the speakers...but no sound.

I opened it and took a look around and it's pristine. I even cleaned the rubber pads but alas, nothing.

My question is this: does anyone know where I might be able to start troubleshooting? I see another post with this same model/issue.

Dear Thomas: Your description of your problems with the unit needs a little improvement. You do not say whether you are using (fresh) batteries or a power adaptor. You hear the speakers? Is this "white" sound, and is there any difference when you increase/dsecrease the volume control?
You've opened the unit and cleaned the rubber pads.....Did you verify that all are in good condition? If they were, did you replace them EXACTLY as when originally installed?
Have you checked the power adaptor Jack? Is it
stuck in "automatic-cutoff from speakers"? Please come back with more info, and let's see if we can be of assistance. Thanks.
