Looking for my first keyboard

by Terry W.L. Wong
(The Netherlands)

Hello, I looking to buy my first keyboard after playing the piano for years.

I am looking at the following and wondering if someone could give me some advice.

Casio CTK-900
Casio WK-110

Or maybe a Yamaha keyboard?

I am planning on jamming with some friends. What I am looking for is good sound, a good collection of sounds (inc. rhythm etc), PC/internet connectivity and an SD-card slot (is this important?).

Sorry if I sound like a novice that is because I am.

Thank you for your help and advice.

New board
by: Murf

If you're used to the weighted feel of a piano go with a weighted board. The unweighted keys with touch sensitivity would drive you mad.

Casio for fun, Yamaha for quality
by: Pat

Right now I have one Casio and three Yamaha keyboards. I love the Casio because of the pre-recorded songs that I play along with to practice on my violin. But the Yamahas, in my opinion, are much better quality instruments. Of course they're also more expensive. If you just want a keyboard for fun, you might save money by buying a Casio. But if you're a serious musician (which I'm not)you might be better satisfied with a Yamaha. This is only my opinion, as I am no expert.
