We have several Yamaha 625 keyboards. 4 of them have screen issues - either lines or a blank screen. What could the problem be and how do I get it repaired?
Dear Debbie: Worst scenario could be that the Displays have conked out. I am not familiar with the YPG 625, but you should be advised that LCD's tend to deteriorate with exposure to Ultra Violet and Infra Red radiation, as well as excessive heat.
One way for these negatives to affect your keyboards could be from excessive exposure to Sunlight if they were not located in a protective environment.
Two other possibilities are: a) Loose or bad Connector where power enters the Display, or b)
Burnt-out Bulb of the Backlit LCD.
Hope this helps.

Same Problem by: Mark
I am having the same problem. I have vertical lines that impact only the left side of the screen. I can still read the display, but it is annoying. Did anybody find a cure for this yet?
I don't think it is infrared light or the other issues posted above....

LCD display on Yamaha YPG625 by: Howie
Here is the text of the reply ...
I brought the keyboard into a local service technician. He told me that he had to remove about 50 screws but the solution was simple. He unplugged and reconnected the ribbon connector. It apparently was not making good contact.

Defective Displays by: Alfred
Dear Mark & Howie: See third paragraph of my original response to Debbie. and I quote: "Two other possibilities are: a) Loose or bad Connector where power enters the Display, or b)
Burnt-out Bulb of the Backlit LCD.
You have to realize that long distance diagnosis is not always the correct one, and Mark, in your case, if it is not a loose or bad Connection where power enters the Display, it probably will be a repair/replacedment job for a qualified technician. Keep well, ande keep those comments coming. They make this Forum a good learning place. All the best.
