i have a p-80 with a c note..one above middle c that is not returning and falling....i lve in mexico and contacted yamaha searching for repair shop....not available in my area....can i tackle this?.....thanks.....jim ranallo

Yamaha P 80 Failing Key

Dear Jim: A long shot attempt is to blow compressed air (from can) followed by a strong vacuuming, then application of talcum powder (use small dry brush) around the perimeter of the offending key. If that does not work, it?s likely the key has cracked at its pivoting point and has to be replaced. Go to YouTube. They have a few video ?clinics? on Key Replacement. If you feel you can handle the job, order the key(s) from Yamaha. Good luck, and thanks for your visit.
