Keyboard Connection to New Imac

Hello Yamaha keyboard guide!

I need your help... I have a Yamaha Clavinova CLP 820 and need to connect it to my new iMac. I am having some trouble with getting it to work. I have a USB to Midi cable, but its not working properly. Do I need to buy the special yamaha usb midi cable?

Dear Joe: There is a Yamaha product (UX 16)which may be what you need. Google that code and you will link up with the appropriate site. The Owner's Manual of one of my keyboards (a PSR 273)indicates I would need such a cable if using MIDI, and a visit to the Yamaha site fully describes the UX 16 and its CD driver. If that's the right product, I understand it sells for about US$ 50.00. Hope this helps. Please let us know your opinion. There is a frequent slew of questions from members asking how to connect their Macs to their keyboards, and your input will surely be helpful. Thanks.
