keyboard back up battery

How do you get the keyboard (PSR-8000) to retain the registration memory and other settings? I have put 4 size 'C'/LR14 batteries but the instrument initializes any time I switch it on.

Dear Prince: I do not believe batteries have anything to do with your problem.
Some (All??) PSR series keyboards will automatically Initialize each time you turn the unit ON/OFF, if nothing is (previously) Memorized. If you check your Owner’s Manual and the various control buttons on the unit, you may come across a set for Registration Memory which allows you to store settings you want to keep. If you activate the buttons concerned, you will be able to re-call those settings. Please post a follow-up message in this Forum if the suggestion is correct.
