Jumbled Yamaha PSR 3000 Screen

My Yamaha PSR3000 LCD screen is displaying jumbled letters/numbers. The location varies, which would lead me to believe it is either a software or ROM problem. I have tried the reset (Power on with C6 held down). However, that did no good. Does anyone know how to fix this? Do I simply need to reload software? Or, should I head to the service agent?
