i wanna connect my piano to pc to make music! how can I do?

i used to compose music with my piano (dgx 620)... And now, i'd like to do it using my laptop (I downloaded some demo version programs for composing)... do i need a sound card for that? I tried with a usb cable, but nothing happened...
please help me~~~

Hi Kwonsoo Kim,

Not sure what you want to do.
If you want to compose music using a computer you need sequencer software Like Cakewalk or Sonar. There are many others.
Oh YES you do need a sound-card to be able to hear what you do. Most computers do have them build in these days. Don't forget that a soundcard (except the special ones) can only reproduce GM midi and that is restricted to 127 voices/effects. You will not be able to here all the extra voices you keyboard has.
