how to hook up my keyboard to my pc?

I've followed every step in the book on how to hook up my keyboard. But once I try to download files from the cd-rom, it tells me the keyboard isn't connected. Can any body help me?

Hooking the yanmaha to pc

Dear
I have the same problem and some times it really works and most of the time it does not work. See if your operating system is correct for the CD which you are usning if possible try on somebodies computer with a different operating system.You may also try updating the drivers on yamaha site.If you have many usb connecters then try each one.
