My psr had a loose connection from adapter in///bought new adapter/same thing so it's NOT the adapter but the connection internally where the adapter goes in....

PSR 730 Adaptor Connection
by: Alfred

There is a possibility that your keyboard (and that of your friend) has a more serious problem than just a “loose or broken wire” at the unit’s Jack. Opening the keyboard and soldering the bad connection may be simple enough, and I hope that it is the solution.
However, after opening the keyboard, if that is not the problem, pinpointing other defective components for repair becomes another matter. Unless you have the appropriate repair tools/equipment and sufficient experience and savvy in repair of electronic systems, it would seem preferable to consult a service professional for an estimate to determine if the cost of repair is feasible. Good luck.

Alfred is right. It is common in most of Keybords that DC in Pin inside the keyboard gets loose due to excessive usage(pressure applied during usage. Before opening the keyboatd, you can confirm the problem, by playing the keyboard using Dry cells. If it works, then it is only the DC conector problem. You may open the keyboard, and just solder oncegain the points where the DC-IN pin is , on the PCB. Any regular electronic mechanic can do. Be careful in not spilling molten lead on other PCBs. I have repaired many Keyboards. You may contact me for further assistance. My mail ID "dasika62@gmail.com"
