Help with converting Technics KN3000 floppy disc music styles to Yamaha PSR700 keyboard

by Maree Ball
(Australia)

I would like to know if there is software available to convert music styles from Technics KN3000 floppy discs to Yamaha PSR S700 keyboard. I have been told that the language exchanged between both keyboards are not compatible with each other. Could someone please help me. I have purchased a floppy disc drive with a USB convertor attached.

Converting styles
by: Dick Rector

Hi Maree,

You want to do something other people did already for you. If you go to PSRTUTORIAL.COM tab STYLES you can download TONS of styles from Yamaha and almost all other keyboards already converted to suit Yamaha keybords.
Bear in mind that not ALL styles will play on your board as they are made for different models with sometimes possibilities and/or voices you simply don't have.
Some styles you have to 'tweak' to suit your ears.
On this same website you will find also many free software programs for adjusting, changing voices etc. Especially MIDIPLAYER by Michael Bedesem is a God-send for style-collectors.
One thing however, the website is at this very moment (Nov. 6 2009) under reconstruction so maybe not all pages are accessible.
Another good website for free to download converting programs is JOSOSOFT.DK

Happy hunting I would say
Regards
