Editing Multitrack - Yamaha Clavinova

I am having difficulty saving changes that I make to MIDI files using the multitrack editor. I make changes with the editor with volume and voicings, save the song, but the changes do not appear.

Is there a certain sequence that needs to be performed to secure song editing changes?

The manual is vague.
