Cruise Ship Party Band seeking well versed keyboard player

by Ivory
(new york city)

Pay is $700 to 750.00 a week, all expense paid

You need to be able to make rehearsals in NYC once a week for 6 consecutive weeks. 3 hour rehearsals

You need to be able to take and pass the medical exam

you need to know a lot of R&B, a little bit of country, 50's, etc.

you need to be able to make once a week rehearsals for 6 weeks IN NYC, MIDTOWN.

must be able to pass random drug test

you really do need to be a "bad boy" to do this gig even though the pay is not "bad ass" pay :).

the gig will be 4 months.

you don't get to come home during the 4 months you're out

direct deposit pay is every 1st and 15th of the month.

you share a cabin with another musician

you play 3 sets a day, 7 days a week so you need to be a serious musician to do this gig and be able to keep up.

2 singers, drums, keyboards, and bass is the band

this is not a rock gig, although we may play a couple of popular rock songs.

if interested, please call me as soon as possible at 206-984-2355 and leave a message and I will call you right back.

Interested in auditioning
by: Anonymous

My name is Jason Friedman. After graduating from Northern Colorado in 1998, with a minor in Classical Piano Performance, I became a songwriter and performed with the popular Denver, CO based Jam Band, ?Bagneo? . I also began playing in jazz ensembles and performed with many acclaimed jazz professionals such as Stanton Moore, Michael Travis, Art Lande, Dave Watts, Bill Kopper and Kirwin Brown before moving to Merced, CA in 2006 to pursue a business opportunity. Shortly after moving to the Central Valley, I became a member of ?Donnie and the Wayrads?. I also play keyboards at many of the festivals, casinos and fairs for various bands throughout the central valley and bay area (?Arrival?, Dave Souza Band, ?Aquanet?, etc.). I do solo gigs as well, for wedding services and jazz piano during cocktail hour before wedding receptions, along with playing in a Latin Jazz trio for dinner hours. I do have plenty of studio experience as well.

Basically, I am looking to expand my horizons. I am interested in auditioning for any vacancies or needs for keyboards for any well established band. I am also interested in auditioning as a solo piano player in a "duo" setting. I am exceptionally skilled in piano, Hammond B3, Rhodes, Wurlitzer, 80s Synth, horns, pads, Moog, etc. I can play any style and am perfectly capable of molding into any band. I also can do backup vocals.

As far as gigging equipment goes, I play a Nord Electro 3 (73 key) for my Hammond Organ, Rhodes, Wurlitzer and Clav. A Korg Triton 61 key for Synthesizer, horns, pads and strings. I use my Yamaha P90 for piano. I triple stack the keyboards and it allows me play in confined spaces without any issues.

Please take a look at my website . On there, you will be able to see pictures, along with some songs that I have composed (Christian music). All instruments, including drums were written and laid down by myself. I did have a friend from church lay down the vocals (lead vocals is not my strongest point). Not everything here is even close to complete, since it?s all done in my highly inexpensive home studio/office, but it will give you an idea of my ability of playing (mainly piano). Like I said, I take pride in the fact that I can play in any style or genre, I can show off major "chops", and can keep any pocket groove going. I have a songlist of over 350 songs.

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to get in touch with me.

Thanks so much for your time,
Jason Friedman

Keyboard Player
by: Frank

Hello:: I read your post about needing a keyboard player. It's something I always wanted to do, but unfortunately my parents discouraged me when I was young..In 1969, I formed a "garage band" with a few friends and together we wrote originals, performed and recorded in the Boston area.I was 17 at the time, being influenced by several artists of the 60's and 70's i.e. jim morrison, robert lamm, and keith emerson..I was classically trained in the late 50's and naively believed rock + roll to not be very technically challenging..Because of this, I transcribed from record the keyboard works of Keith Emerson and of several Jazz pianists i.e. Bill Evans,Dave McKenna to name a few. My vocal ability as a harmony part was very useful. The last time I played piano was in 1975, at a benefit concert to raise money for an adolescence counseling group..Since then I have not played in public, but practise on my own with hopes of returning..My grandfather emigrated to the U.S. in 1936..It was in Charlestown,Mass. (a Boston suburb) that my father met and became a great friend of Domenic Costa (father of Nikka Costa) I had asked my father in 1969, to send him a copy of the 45rpm I recorded because I wanted to know what Costa thought of it..It would have been such a great contact and a possible start in the music business..I never heard from Costa and wanted to contact him personally to find out if he ever got the record..My father was reluctant to give me his phone number and I grew very bitter and angry.I wanted to know why he was doing this to me..His most famous words were "the music profession is corrupt and filled with alcoholics" therefore you shouldn't become a musician". Costa moved to New York and eventually became an arranger and producer of several Sinatra records.. Nikka moved to Australia and formed her own band.I have not followed her career but recently learned that she helped co-write Eric Clapton's latest tune "Diamonds made from rain" which is on the latest CD "Clapton"..I wish you all the best with your quest to find the ideal musician for your band..I'm sure there are many qualified, and super-talented individuals who had the same dreams I had, who fortunately were not effected by negativity and had the moral, financial and positive musical experiences to bring them to their full potential..
