Connecting Yamaha PSR 650 keyboard to a CD Drive or a external hard disc

Hello,
The floppy drive of the Yamaha keyboard PSR 650 gives a lot of trouble and most of the time it is difficult to read. Also these days floppies are not available. Is it possible to connect the keyboard to an external CD drive (Not a computer). I understand that the connection can be made to computer through a Yamaha UX 16 Midi interface. However I need to carry the keyboard to different loctions and it becomes impossible to take the computer along.
I need a solution to have a small extrnal drive on which the MIDI files are stored and the keyboard can access the same.
Thi external sorage device can be a CD drive, external hard drive or a simple pen drive.
Can you give me a workable solution?
