CONNECTING MOTIF8 TO LAPTOP WITH VISTA

WHEN I CONNECT MY MOTIF 8 VIA USB TO MY LAPTOP USING CUBASE THERE IS NO SOUND / SIGNAL COMING INTO THE LAPTOP NOR CAN I HEAR ANY SOUND WHEN I PLAY. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Has anybody got any experience with connecting Motif to laptop via usb?? I posted this over 10 days ago with no response.. Please somebody respond.
