Connect Yamaha Motif to multi-track recorder

1. how do i connect a motif xs8 to a roland br-1600 multi-track recorder for the recorder to record what's been recorded on the motif xs8? Please explain in detailed common laymen's terms.

2. When transferring recorded material from xs8 to br-1600, will the tracks on the xs8 that have recorded be transferred to the the same track NUMBERS on the br-1600? A. For example, will recorded tracks 1 and 2 on xs8 be transferred to empty tracks 1 and 2 on the br-1600? B. Is it possible to use the midi cable to transfer tracks from xs8 to br-1600 all at once or do i have to do it track by track? Please explain in detail.

3. Why doesn't my motif xs8 track properly in pattern record? It loses it's timing.
