clonking keys.

I own a Clavinova clp-820. It is a few yrs old. the keys have developed an after knock. like they are loose or the felt is gone. Can this be repaired?

Dear Moses: Your unit was released in 1998 and obviously has given you many hours of playing pleasure. You probably are right in suspecting worn felt "clonk" suppressors. It may be difficult to obtain new felt from Yamaha, but I suggest you try, anyway. Here's the contact for Yamaha parts at (714) 522-9011 or 1 800 940 8806 to place an order over the phone via credit card. Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Be sure to have the Model number of the product available so that accurate information can be provided. If you do not intend to DIY, contact Yamaha at http://yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/Service/ServicerLocator/0,,VNM%3DLIVE,00.html, for their nearest Local Repair Shop.
Another suggestion if Yamaha does not have the part is to contact oaktreevintagesales.com they deal in vintage Electronic Piano & Keyboard parts.
