Clavinova pedal problems

by Matt Graham
(Madison, IN)

The school I work for has an older Clavinova that uses something like a 6-pin adapter to connect the 3-pedal assembly to the keyboard. Recently that wire broke and I am having a hard time replacing it and/or the assemble. Can you give me any more information on how best to fix this problem?

Me too

Radio shack doesn't carry the adapter any longer. The first time this happened, I used an old PS/2 computer mouse end - but they only have 4 wires instead of the 6 we need. This was only a temporary fix and I would love to find someone who knows where we can get a new one.

It is a 6-pin
by: Nic

A ps2 connector works (you just have to find with that has 6 cables), it's also a type of 6-pin din connector. My problem is I found a ps2 with 6 cables, but the colors are all different so I don't know where to solder the cables? It's been three years since this question was asked and still no answer?

Anyone know of a wiring diagram for the pedal.

To help some of you, I found this:

pin diagram
by: Nic (again)

So I took it apart and found the pin layout. First, it's called the "pedal cable" and you can call yamaha for the part number. Should start with v0044700. Mine ends with an 'R'

here is the pin colors

if the link doesnt work: Look at the connector (6 pins) with the rectangular guide oriented up at 12 o'clock.
Now starting with the first pin to the right (at about 1 o'clock) number in a clockwise fashion.
1-green
2-orange
3-brown
4-black
5-red
6-white
