Clavinova CVP -- static and weird sounds -- could it be electrolytic capacitors?

Could my problem be like Monicas? Static noises from speakers - Yamaha Clavinova CVP207
My newly purchased (used) Yamaha Clavinova CVP 83/85/87 was working flawlessly; I purchased it 3 months ago. Yesterday, I turned it on like usual and immediately heard weird static and odd 'sound effects' every time I pressed piano keys. I disconnected the pedal, with no change.
The only thing that appears to change the situation:
Changing the "reverb" option alters the 'bad' sounds. In other words, each Reverb option provided different weird staticy icky sound effects.
The best situation is to remove all "reverb" settings (make sure none of the following are selected: Room, Hall1, Hall2, Cosmic). There is still an annoying static with each piano key press, and occasional creaky sounds (almost like Halloween affects).
Any suggestions are much appreciated!
