Choosing a music keyboard - I need some help please!

I am looking to buy my boyfriend a keyboard for his birthday but i hate to admit i am completley clueless as to which model to go for. All I know is that i want a yamaha as i know it is a quality name.

My boyfriend has hinted to me for a while that he would love to one day learn how to the piano but we dont have the space at the moment to accomodate one. Therefore i was considering a keyboard as this will allow him to learn and progress in the meantime.

I have seen the Yamaha PSR-E303 and 313 and i quite like the look fo these but any help or advice you could give me on choosing the right model would be grealty appreciated!

By the way, my boyfriend is a complete novice,he has an ear for music but has never taken lessons.
