Change preset volume on Yamaha CLP240

by Lennart Svensson
(Sweden)

I have a Yamaha CLP 240.
The volume difers a lot between the instruments on my piano.
If I play with pianosound and then change to organ the volume is quite too loud on the organ.

Is there any way to set the preset volume for the instruments independently from each other.

Hi Lennart,

Not familiar with your keyboard but in general it is only possible if your keyboard has the possibilities to 'edit' the volume of the voices and again, as far as I know, only with voices in the user area.
Preset voices-volumes are factory-set, but when you make a setup and save it in a memorybank you can adjust of course anything you want.
Hope this helps you a bit.

Dear Lennart: Dick Lector's info is probably 100% on target. Looking at a picture of your unit shows it has Buttons and a Display which prompt the question "Among the Buttons is there a FUNCTION Button?". If there is, pressing on it should access some options in the Display, including one which allows some measure (increase/decrease) of Volume balance (between Accompaniment & Melody) using the(+) and (-) keypad buttons. Maybe this helps.

Haha Alfred, was it on purpose or a genuine typing error 'Dick Lector'.
Love it!

Anyway Lennart, Alfred is correct about the settings in functions but it can only be saved in a user-area or other medium (floppy, HD, flashdisk, memorycard)
Presets are fixed in the un-erasable memory and that is done to prevent deleting them by accident.
The whole reason for a 'reset or factory reset' is to help people out of the 'mess' one can create by... mmmmm.... messing around with voices and styles.

Take care
Dick

Dear Lennart: Hope you've learned, as I have, from Dick Rector's info. He's wrong about "Lector", his nickname should be "Tutor"!!
Watch for his input in this Forum, he keeps it alive with his wise counsel. We learn a lot from his comments! Keep well.
