Any way to narrow the range or sensitivity of Aux Volume Pedal Yamaha CVP-305?
by Pastor Alex
(Mundelein, IL USA)
Greetings! I'm the pastor of a church which uses a Yamaha CVP-305 as our primary instrument. Our musician is a little technophobic, so I'm trying to help her out. The problem we're having in short is that the Aux Volume Pedal is a little bit too sensitive; a small movement results in a pretty big difference in volume. We're using the fixed output to the mixer leaving the unit's volume control independently adjustable. I looked in the controller menu for the pedal controls and it appears that the parameters for the volume pedal are not adjustable other than polarity. I imagine that there's probably some way to do it at the voice level or registration banks, but it would be nice to have an "across the board" solution if one is possible, but I'm open to anything that works. If need be, I suppose I can crack open the pedal and change the value of (what I presume is) the variable resistor inside, but it's been awhile since I've picked up the soldering iron and I'd like to keep it that way. I would suppose that on a unit as complex as this one that there HAS to be a way to "get there from here," so I'm wondering if anyone has tackled this issue and can offer some advice. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
